Contextual advertising is an online marketing method that generates and displays advertisements based on the content of a web page or the keywords typed into a search engine text box. It has garnered a great deal of marketing attention lately since it is one of the most targeted forms of advertising possible. By limiting advertisements that are displayed only to those related to the web site topic or search engine query, this ensures that the advertisements that are displayed are likely to be of interest to the web surfer who is exposed to them.
Contextual advertising is a good option for both merchants and web masters. Merchants like it because they get a greater return on their marketing investment since the ad is only seen by people who are likely to be interested in their product and therefore more likely to actually make a purchase. Web masters enjoy this type of advertising because it allows them to earn income on each and every web site that they maintain. Many websites that contain contextual advertising are hobbyist web sites that were not created for commercial reasons. Hosting contextual ads allows the web master to recoup his or her expenses and perhaps even make a profit from the web site. It also allows web masters to migrate from subscription based sites to free web sites.
This type of advertising really reached the big time when internet heavyweight Google created its Google AdSense contextual marketing service. Google AdSense utilizes Google’s highly advanced search engine technology to serve up advertisements that take into account not only the content of the web page but information such as the user’s location. For example, a web browser from Germany might see advertisements in German touting German products, whereas an American user will see ads in English that are directed at an American public. In fact, Google’s advertising program can even regionalize down to the city that the user is in. Never before has internet marketing been able to achieve this level of directness and consumer focus. It has achieved one of the erstwhile holy grails of online marketing—the ability to bring local offerings to the user and finally mesh local communities with the greater online universe.
Contextual advertising is one of the fastest growing online marketing methods. As consumers continue to do more and more of their shopping online we can expect more merchants to compete for their attention. This means that this advertising is likely to continue to gain strength as a major method of advertising. The targeted and direct nature make it a very popular choice with merchants who are looking to squeeze the most value out of their marketing dollars.

Mormons prefer dealing with people who aren’t too bright, don’t they? Because bright people know that stories about golden plates, magic rocks and polygamy are a load of bollocks, right? And also, people on the internet have instant access to pages and pages of information about the Mormons whereas TV watchers just have to watch and listen…and occasionally wipe the drool from their chins as the gaze myopically at the images on their screens, right?

One way that every business uses the Internet, if they are smart is to do email marketing. Building an opt-in lost list of subscribers who want to hear from you is an excellent way to keep in touch with your customers and make futures sales.
Today auto responders have replaced direct mail, and snail mail follow-up. Contact information can be generated on websites by a sign-up form. This is a great way to capture your visitor’s information if they are not customers, for more details visit to www.mrx-interview.com because someday they may want to become one. .Internet marketing today includes things such as blogging and Web 2.0 marketing. There is also a large emphasis placed on search engine optimization. These are all terms that can become intimidating to the average Internet marketer.
Fortunately there are people available to do the sort of activities for you and you can outsource much of your business today if you personally do not want to handle it. As a matter of fact there are many businesses that have more money than time and will outsource a great portion of what they do.
Internet marketing works today because search engines do such a great job of providing relevant searches to their visitors. Another thing that has become very useful is local search. Internet marketing is defined as advertising and selling a product on the Internet. Even businesses that are primarily operated off line in the past are now starting to develop an Internet presence.
This is quickly replacing yellow pages as a way for people to find anything from a local pizza company, to someone to do their hair. This can be as easy as typing in the keyword phrase and the city where you live.
The one thing that really hasn’t changed with Internet marketing is the importance of getting traffic to a website or blog before, for more details visit to www.outsource-beginners.com you can make any money. The most successful Internet marketers today are the people who are able to attract the most traffic. Even businesses that are not actively using Web 2.0 marketing, or do not even have a quality website; can make money on the Internet if they get enough visitors to their site.
The ultra successful Internet marketer understands the importance of converting some of their visitors into paying customers. They do this by making sure that their visitors experience is as enjoyable as possible. This can lead to viral marketing which in turn can send even more visitors in the future.
This is a few examples of how Internet marketing works today. Any business can and should be doing as many of these things as possible.

I have a new web service I want to start, and I am trying to decide what is the best revenue model – making it free with ads, or charging fees for service levels. I don’t know what I can reasonably expect to make with internet ads, nor who is the best ad provider to work with. And does it matter what kind of ads, like banners or words or pop-ups?
googel ad sense is good for right now…
but wait for ads by yahoo still in beta and they will invite you to join if you apply now..
just generate people coming to your site..
goto http://www.heilcf2.com and see how i post different sites ads on my website and also to divert viewres to my website..
i made $300 US last month only from google ad sense ..

Internet Advertising methods are popular because virtually everyone knows HTML. As a business owner, you have to choose the best Internet advertising method for your enterprise. Before you decide you must look at the benefits of both cheap and expensive Internet advertising methods. Most people will automatically tell you to choose the expensive methods, but actually they dont know that cheaper advertising methods on the Internet have huge paybacks as well.
Here is the scoop and a comparison between cheap and expensive Internet advertising methods:
Costly Ones:
1.Pop-ups.
This is an expensive method that is also bothersome because people normally close these pop-up windows and dont even try to find out what they are about. Using this method is a waste of your money. Fly ads that are derived from pop-ups are equally irritating to surfers.
2. Pod Casts.
Pod casting on the Internet is like broadcasting on the TV. This is a stylish new method thats very hard on your budget. However if you want results then this will be money well spent.
3. Paying Search Engines.
This is an expensive method that lets your sites URL be listed in the top search results when a person types the related keyword. You pay a fixed amount to the search engine. This is expensive but if you can pay search engines such as Yahoo or Google then its definitely worth the money. Pay-per-click is also the same thing.
Cheap Ones:
1.Blogs.
This is one of the latest Internet trends. Go ahead follow the crowd and write a blog advertising your website. Its simple you just sign up for a blog, post your messages and just like that! It doesnt even cost anything!
2. Choose smaller search engines:
This is inexpensive and reliable. By putting your site on smaller search engines you increase your chances of getting more results. Bigger search engines can easily ignore your site, so to ensure you are noticed use this cheap method of Internet advertising, it just might work for you.
3. Text link:
This one is almost free! Ask someone to text link your site and do the same for them.
Expensive versus cheap, this is a dilemma we always face when making decisions to get something. When it comes to Internet advertising you must find out what your needs are and which method best fulfills them. Go with what you like but make sure you get results.

Are you looking for some inside information on internet advertising? Here’s an up-to-date report from internet advertising experts who should know.
So you got your website up and running. You hired an excellent web designer to craft a perfect home page and satellite pages that will really draw in the visitors and inspire them to buy. You have a beautiful catalog of products with detailed descriptions. You have a section dedicated to the services you provide with praises from past customers. And you have the best online shopping cart service out there so that you customers can buy from you with no hassles and next day shipping. That’s great! Now where are your customers?
Driving traffic to your website is a much discussed and much misunderstood venture. There are a million theories out there that claim to drive tons of new visitors to your site daily. There are services that say they will increase your traffic by an enormous percentage if you will only pay them their small fee over a period of fifty years. There are so-called experts who will place your pages on all the best search engines on the net. They claim that with this kind of blanket exposure, your traffic numbers will explode within days.
But the only sure-fire way to draw productive traffic to your website is through targeted marketing. The important word to notice here is “productive.” You can draw hundreds of thousands of visitors to your site every year by hosting a giveaway of some kind. Services that search the internet for freebies will have people clicking a link to your site like crazy. But these people are not there to buy anything from you … quite the opposite. They are empty clicks. There is nothing productive about this kind of traffic. People looking for free stuff will rarely make you any kind of money. And that’s what you’re after, right?
So target your marketing to the people who really want to buy what you have to offer. How? Start by trying these basic steps…
The information about internet advertising presented here will do one of two things: either it will reinforce what you know about internet advertising or it will teach you something new. Both are good outcomes.
* Hire an experienced copywriter. The copy that is on your site makes a world of difference in the sales you garner from the internet. Most important to targeted marketing are the keywords found in your title and the metatags in the website’s code. An experienced copywriter will know how to determine the most effective keywords and place them strategically in your site’s copy. If you cannot afford a copywriter, do some research and talk to your web designer about inserting metatags.
* You can enroll in pay per click search engines. Obviously, google.com is one of these, but most of the most popular keywords are already taken. If you can think of some original phrases that people use to search for your products or services, you can post your ad next to the text that comes up when people search for that phrase. Every time someone clicks on your ad to go to your site, you pay google.com a nominal fee.
* Submit articles to free ezine sites. This is especially helpful if you are a service provider. You can write, or hire someone to write, an article for you about your area of expertise. Give some free tips, offer your experience, and be accessible in the text. Then at the bottom of the article, you get a link to your website advertising your services. Every time someone publishes your article in their ezine or newsletter, they must use your web address at the bottom.
These are just a few of the many ways to ensure you get “productive” traffic. Empty clicks are just that … empty… and your wallet will stay that way, too!
Those who only know one or two facts about Internet Advertising can be confused by misleading information. The best way to help those who are misled is to gently correct them with the truths you’re learning here.
