Do you have to have internet/email to use a blackberry?

I was thinking of getting a blackberry but I don’t want to pay monthly for internet and email.
I just want to use the phone for texting and calling.
I was wondering if you have to pay for picture messaging also.
No you do not need to have the internet / email to use a Blackberry. I currently am using a Blackberry 8100 Pearl that does not use the internet / email. You should buy an "Unlocked" Blackberry (This is a phone that will access all network providers, T-Mobil, AT&T, etc… using your old SIM card). This will allow you to use your phone as a pay as you go phone. As a pay as you go phone I can talk, text and send picture messages no problem.

they did this new rule, as of sept 20 all blackberrys need internet.
pretty stupid. but if you ask them they can maybe put a block on it and wont chard you
